Scott has been a member in good standing of the Massachusetts Bar since 2011, and has been a member in good standing of the New York Bar since 2012.
Scott possesses a broad-based business and legal background, which he uses to help IBLG’s clients. Scott has both a Law degree and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Scott has extensive work experience in both law and business.
Before joining IBLG, Scott acted as Associate General Counsel of an international carbon credit certifier. In that position, Scott specialized in issues pertaining to the nascent carbon market and its associated legislation, as well as employment law and contract law issues.
Scott also understands the day-to-day concerns of businesses, both young and established. During business school, Scott worked for a Cambridge startup while it sought its initial round of financing, and Scott helped to better position the young business for that endeavor.
Scott was born and raised in Tennessee. He has many memories of working hard on the family farm, repairing fence lines, building barns, and (yes) digging ditches. In addition to working hard, Scott’s family believed in a strong mind, and the family pushed hard for education and experiences.
After high school, Scott earned a Rotary scholarship to Switzerland, where he lived for a year learning French. Upon returning home, Scott attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville on scholarship. During school, Scott continued to pursue further international experiences, living a year abroad in Dalian, China learning Mandarin Chinese and spending a summer in Bordeaux and Toulouse, France, where he studied the French wine industry and the European aviation industry (Airbus).
Following university, Scott worked for a year before returning to school, this time to Boston University Law and Business Schools. While in school, Scott returned to China for three months in order to better understand Chinese manufacturing processes and recent improvements.
These days, Scott spends his time working hard for IBLG clients and spending time with his wife, Tammy, and their two dogs.
